Abstract:
In this paper, it is pointed out that in the formula of the well pumping discharge, there is an error in the determination of the cross section of water induced according to Darcy's law, and this formula cannot reflect groundwater flow around the pumping well. There is no theoretical evidence for the influence radius and the factor C in the formula. Due to the different hydraulic properties, we cannot use the so-called pumping test in a confined aquifer to verify the partial seepage in the pumping test of the phreatic aquifer in Nebraska described by Wenzer. Therefore, the conclusion that the specific well yield is the transmissivity is not cogent.
