Abstract: Earth fissures occurs in Hengshui,Baixiang,Wen’an,Anping,Xianghe and Bazhou in Hebei Province in summer and autumn. The earth fissure at Baixiang at Xingtai is as long as 8km. This paper reveals that the Baixiang earth fissure was caused owing to groundwater overdrafts through general combination of geophysical exploration data and ground water level analysis.
