对很厚的黄土地层,合理地进行工程地质分层是场地工程地质评价的前提。为此,本文利用甘肃陇东黄土塬顶开挖的-100 m深人工水井,沿井壁及剖面露头对黄土-古土壤地层序列进行了详细编录,通过与标准剖面对比,确定了其磁性地层、岩性地层及时代地层单位。在井壁及剖面露头上按0.5 m间距采样,室内测定了其颗粒成分及基本物理性质指标,对这些指标随深度的变化规律进行了分析,将整个黄土地层划分为16个工程地质层。同一时代的黄土地层在同一沉积单元内的性质相对均一,因此整个黄土高原地区可参考该方案进行工程地质分层。
