A study of the empirical creep model of soft dredger fill

  • Most of the traditional constitutive models are based on the remolded clays or saturated sand, in which the effect of structure is not considered. Generally speaking, natural soil has structure, the calculated values through traditional constitutive models are not fitted to the engineering practice. For this reason, based on the Mesri model, a rheological model is established, in which the structural effect is considered through introducing the soil structure damage variable into the model. Through triaxial rheological test on structured soft dredger fill which is treated by vacuum preloading in Tianjin Binhai New Area, the calculation results show that the new established model can reflect the relationship between stressstrain change and time of structured soft dredger fill.
