    A PFC-CFD coupled model in meso-scale for seepage

    • Based on an analysis of the traditional continuum model for saturated porous media, a PFC-CFD coupled model was proposed to simulate the meso-scale pore water flow and micro-scale solid deformation of saturated soils. Particles were simulated by PFC~ 2D while fluid was simulated by solving the average Navier-Stokes equations. A brief verification was made in a two-dimensional case. The results indicate that the proposed model can simulate a wide variety of flow from low Reynolds number to high Reynolds number and can be used in geotechnical problems such as seepage.
