Abstract
Remote sensing monitoring of water quality is capable of showing the distribution and variation of water quality in space and time and meets the demand of large-scale and real-time water quality assessment. In this paper, the spectral characteristics of Fuxian and Xingyun Lakes water are studied by analyzing the field spectra measurements. The observed of Chlorophyll-a(Chl-a) concentration,Suspended Sediment(SS) concentration and MODIS band combination were compared. The results show that the ratio of band 2 to band 1(r2/r1) with 250 m resolution is suitable to retrieve Chl-a concentration, while the proportion of sum-difference band 4 to band 3(r4-r3)/(r4+r3) with 500 m resolution is related closely to SS concentration.Utilizing the best band combinations,semi-empirical retrieval models for Chl-a,the SS concentrations are composed in the Fuxian and Xingyun Lakes.
