Abstract
Vegetation, soil physical and chemical characteristics and hydrological data are examined in this article. All band Landsat-5 TM image is used and techniques of remote sensing-mathematics-model fusion are introduced.Based on investigation of groundwater levels, soil moisture and other associated in situ data,a remote sensing model of assessment of groundwater level distribution,i.e,GLDRS model,is established. The GLDRS model is verified in the study area. The results indicate that using the GLDRS multi-band model to monitor and appraise groundwater level distribution is feasible on the natural belts where the depth to groundwater levels is not greater than 3 m below the land surface.
