Experimental study on the water-stability property of clay aggregates stabilized by STW polymer soil stabilizer

In this paper,the water-stability property of clay aggregates stabilized with different concentration of STW type polymer soil stabilizer,is tested using static-water measure method.The test results indicate that STW type soil stabilizer with low concentration 3%～9% can greatly improve the soil water-stability property;at the same concentration,the stability index K decreases with the increasing the aggregate size.Two collapse models of soil aggregates are proposed,and the modified mechanism of the STW type macromolecule soil stabilizer for improving the water-stability property of soil aggregates is discussed.
