    Study on the feature and activity of Qianbo fault in Kala hydropower station

    • Qianbo fault is the largest fracture structure in the Kala hydropower station area,so the research on the activity of Qianbo fault has important meaning.According to the geologic field work,we found that there are no dynamic structural landscapes in the areas where go through the fault,and the quartz’s shapes in the fault belt are main the deep erosive orange peel or moss like appearance.The results of ESR dating show that the fault is the late Pleistocene tectonic structure,while the on-site radon measurement shows that the ratio of the fault pulse peak value to the background value is relatively large and with relatively weak level of healing.These evidences prove that Qianbo fault has not been activated since the Holocene,and is not an active fault belt.So the fault belt activity has little effect on engineer construction.
