A study of coal resources mining under the Zhanghe Reservoir

Safe mining under a reservoir is very important to the safety of coal mine and to the protection of surface water or ground water.This paper presents a detailed study for the security of mining under a reservoir through analyses of geological condition,overburden strata characteristic,fracture zone calculation and mining condition.The results show that the geological mining condition and overburden strata characteristic are favorable to safety mining,and the fracture zone can not touch the bottom of reservoir.The hydraulic relation between surface water and ground water is very weak.Therefore,the coal resource under a reservoir can be mined in safety condition.In the mean while,the correlative technologies and measures are also proposed to ensure the safety of mining under a reservoir.
