Relationship between the deformation features of the Huayuanyangjichang landslide and water level changes in the Three Gorges Reservoir area

After the impoundment to 175 m level in October 2010,serious deformation occurred in the Huayuanyangjichang landslide.Based on the detailed investigation of the new cracks,GPS observations and deep displacement monitoring data,the deformation and reasons of the landslide caused by water level changes are analysed comprehensively.The results show that it formed 9 new extension cracks striking NNE in the lower and middle parts caused by water loading and erosion at the front edge of the landslide
