Abstract
The surface temperature field of the Changbai Mountain basalt area was interpreted using the Landsat TM5 data. The geothermal anomaly areas were identified by the discrimination analysis, in which the comprehensive analysis of the surface temperature field, hot springs and geothermal well distribution characteristics and gravity field and magnetic field were carried out. The relationship between 7 main faults and the geothermal water anomaly was evaluated with the subsection mean method. The results show that the geothermal water anomaly areas can be divided into four regions, including around the Changbai Moutain Tianchi volcano region, the Songjianghe country-Fusong county-Erdaobaihe country-Songjiang country regions (the Fusong basin and Songjiang basin), the Xianrenqiao region, and the Changbai county-Shilidaogou country region (the Changbai basin). The spatial distribution of geothermal water is in good correlation with the faults. The influence degree on geothermal water of the SW-trending faults is higher in the SW sides than in the NE sides of the faults, and the geothermal water anomaly is found in the fault zones. The influence degree on geothermal water of SW-trending faults is higher in the NE sides than in the SW sides of the faults. There is geothermal water anomaly near the NE-trending and EW-trending faults, which were influenced by the Changbai Mountain Tianchi volcano.
