An analysis of the pipeline resistance loss calculation in pour water test with a deep artesian well

    • In pumping tests or pour water tests, the well loss frequently occurs, and researches on pipeline resistance loss are of great significance in hydrogeological tests. In the hydrogeological survey of the Heihe River basin, an artesian well (HQ2) was used to conducted a more-routine fall test, with a new technology of the timely automatic monitoring device made by the Center for Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology Survey in Baoding, and the steel pipe resistance loss was measured within a length of 158 175 in the well of 160 mm in diameter. The results show that the loss values are 2 67 m, 1 7 m and 0 81 m, respectively, when the well discharge is 31 44 L/s, 25 72 L/s and 16 84 L/s, which account for 50 85%, 48 29% and 42 85% of the near-surface drawdown, respectively. A comparative analysis of the computation results of the empirical formula with the measured values is made, and the utilization conditions of the formula are also proposed.
